Laryngitis is swelling and irritation (inflammation) of the voice box (larynx) that is usually associated with hoarseness or loss of voice.

My ears feel too big on the inside, and a little like they're stuffed with snappy sounding cotton (the kind that comes stuffed into a bottle of aspirin).

Right side, parotid lymph node in full defense mode, tumescent and sensitive.

Head, swimming.  Inside, it's a huge empty room.  There is carpet on the walls and dust all over the floor (not carpeted).  Someone is vacuuming.  The dust is swirling up from the floor into little cyclones and moving around the vacuumer.  There's a sound coming from the vacuum that is like a low, slow vibration with a slightly metallic quality.  The dust is acrid and smarts my sinuses.

Voice, dropped.  Maybe a whole octave.  It feels like there's a speculum in my throat, making it wider than it should be.  The muscles are strained and tired.  Swallowing around giant, swollen tonsils is weird.  The taste of sick is in every cough.

Sleep anxiety.  All the throat muscles relax and, due to swelling, suffocate me as soon as I drift off.  Panic knocks the common sense out of me.  My lungs protract for naught.  The air isn't coming in.  Eyes wide open, sitting bolt upright, fingers digging into the upholstery.  A tiny wheeze blossoms into a full breath, but I have to work really hard for it.

Am I a drama queen?  Maybe I am.
